Dave Versluis scores one Dutch Open point at Varsseveld

Dave Versluis of the Frentec Champ Team has scored a Dutch Open point at the third round of the Dutch Open Championship Series at Varsseveld. Versluis crashed in the first lap of both heats and had to come back trough the field. In the first moto he still managed to finish the race in 20th position but in the second moto he crashed another time and because of this he finished outside of the points in 24th position.

In practice Dave took his time to get used to the track. When the time practice started he tried to put a fast lap together. After his first attempt he was in 21st position. Later on in the session he dropped back to 22nd position. Dave went out again and improved himself on his fastest lap time. He moved up to 21st position again but in the closing stages of the session a rider set a faster lap time than Dave and because of this Dave ended the session in 22nd position.

In the first moto his reaction was good when the gate dropped but he made a small wheely and lost a little bit of time there. Dave went into the first corner around 20th position. In the first lap he collided with another rider and crashed. He dropped back to 32nd position and had to come back trough the field. Dave gave everything he had and worked himself back up to 20th position to score one point.

In the second moto he took a good start as well but again he crashed in the first lap and lost a lot of positions there. He came back strong but just at the moment when he had worked himself up to 24th position he crashed again and dropped back to 27th position. In the rest of the race he managed to overtake some riders but finally he had to be satisfied with 24th position and didn’t score points in the second moto.

Dave finished in 24th position overall in Varsseveld. This Sunday round 4 of the series will be held at Heerde.
