Dave Versluis seventh in the supercross at Schijndel

Dave Versluis from the Frentec Champ Team finished seventh overall at the supercross in Schijndel last weekend. Versluis rode a consistent final on Saturday and finished in sixth position. In the final on Sunday he crossed the finish line in seventh position.

The weekend started not that well for Dave on Saturday. In both heats he had to come back trough the field. In the first moto he finished in tenth position and after a crash with the start he finished in ninth position in the second heat. In the last chance he took a decent start and came out of the first corner in fourth position. Because only two riders qualified themselves for the final he had to pass the second and third place riders. He managed to pass the third place rider in the beginning of the race. In the closing stages of the race the second place rider made a mistake so Dave took over this position and qualified himself for the final.

In the final he didn’t took a good start and had to start the race in ninth position. Because several riders crashed in the beginning of the race he moved up to seventh position. Dave held on to this position for several laps and after a crash of the sixth place rider in the final lap he took over this position and finally finished the race in sixth position.

The heats on Sunday were going much better. In the first moto he was riding in fifth position for a while but in the second part of the race he moved up a position and crossed the finish line in fourth position. In the second heat he was riding in second position in the beginning of the race. During the race he lost a position and after a well ridden race he finished in 3^rd position. These results were good enough to qualify directly for the final.

In the final he took a good start and went into the first corner in fifth position. He held on to this position for quiet some time but because of a mistake in the middle of the race he lost three positions and dropped back to eight position. In the closing stages of the race he moved up to seventh position in which he finished.

Dave finished seventh overall at the supercross in Schijndel. Dave’s next supercross is in Hardenberg in the weekend of the 26th, 27th and 28^th of November.
