| Dave Versluis moves up to 11th position in the UEM 125cc Series Dave Versluis of the Frentec Champ Team has moved up to eleventh position in the European 125cc Championship Series. On August 6th and 7th round four of the series was held in Loket in the Czech Republic. On Saturday he posted the 16th fastest time in time practice. In the first moto he didn’t took a good start and went into the first corner in the middle of the field. He found his rhythm straight away and was riding faster than the riders in front of him. During the race he managed to pass a lot of riders and finished the race in eight position.
In the second moto he took a poor start as well and this time he had to come back from around 20th position. Dave started a charge back trough the field and fought his way back to 11th position. Overall he finished in eight position and after four rounds he sits in 11th position in the championship. Last weekend Dave participated in the Junior World Championship in Cingoli, Italy. 61 riders went out on Saturday to qualify themselves for the race on Sunday. In the free practice session Dave was riding several fast laps and ended the session in 13th position. In time practice he struggled to find his rhythm and for a long time he was in 17th position. The first 18 riders from each group qualified themselves directly for the race on Sunday. Dave decided to go out again to try to put a faster lap together. In his final attempt he improved on his fastest lap time and ended the session in eleventh position. In the first moto Dave didn’t took a good start but during the first lap he worked himself back up to 16th position. Unfortunately he crashed soon after and dropped back to 39th position. In this strong field of riders it wasn’t easy to come back but still he managed to fight himself back up to 27th position. In the second moto he took a better start and this time he came out of the first corner in twelfth position. Unfortunately he made mistake in the first lap and got hit by several riders. This cost him a lot of time and positions. Dave had to come back from the back of the field but in his charge back trough the field he crashed again. After the crash he couldn’t find his rhythm anymore and finished the race in 26th position. Overall he finished in 29th position. This weekend round five of the European 125cc Championship Series will be held at Matterley Basin in Great Britain. |
