Dave Versluis wins national race at Heerde

Dave Versluis of the Frentec Champ Team has won the first national race of the season in Heerde last Sunday. On the muddy circumstances the rider from Assendelft came home in 3^rd and 2^nd position in the motos, which was enough to take the overall win.

In practice he took his time to get used to the track. When time practice started he pushed several laps to put a fast lap together. He was in second for a long time but in the closing stages of the session some riders were faster so Dave dropped down some positions and finished the session in tenth position.

In the first moto he didn’t took a good start but in the openings laps he passed a lot of riders so at the third lap he moved into seventh position. Because of a small crash he dropped back to eight position again. It took him some time to get his rhythm back but at the second part of the race things were going the right way. In the final laps he managed to pass several riders and finished the race in fourth position. Because a rider in front of him got disqualified, he moved up a position and finished the first race in third position.

His start in the second moto was a lot better and he went into the first corner in seventh position. In lap 3 he worked himself up to third position and in lap 7 he passed the second place rider. Dave rode a consistent race and tried to make less mistakes. After a real mudrace he crossed the finish line in second position.

With a 3^rd and a 2^nd position in the motos he took the overall victory.
