Dave Versluis from the Frentec Champ Team finished seventh at the international supercross at Goes last Saturday. In the final he took a good start but in the first corner he was forced to go wide and lost several positions. In the whoops he took some positions back and started the race in sixth position. Dave rode a consistent race and only lost one position to finish in seventh position.

On Friday Dave had to ride two heats. In the first heat he took a poor start and had to come back through the field. In the beginning of the race he worked himself up to sixth position but lost this position again and finally crossed the finish line in seventh position.

In the second heat he started in fifth position but after a few laps he moved into fourth position. Dave managed to held on to this position for several laps but than lost this position and dropped back to fifth position. In the closing stages of the race he had good battle with the sixth place rider. Dave was just a little bit to enthusiastic and crashed. He lost his position and finished the race in sixth position.

On Saturday he had to ride two series before the main event as well. In the first heat he took a good start and at the end of the first lap he came by start/finish in fifth position. During the race he lost two positions and dropped back to seventh position. Dave managed to held on to this position for quiet some laps but than he lost another spot. Dave followed the rider in front of him and kept the pressure on him. In the final corner before the finish line he passed him back and crossed the finish line in seventh position.

In the second heat he took a so so start and started the race in sixth position. In the first lap he was able to avoid a big crash and moved into fifth position. His riding went well and the rider from Assendelft managed to held on to fifth position till the chequered flag waved.

With a seventh and a fifth position in the heats he didn’t score enough points to qualify himself directly for the main event. Dave had to ride the last chance qualifier. In this race he crossed the finish line in fourth position, which was enough for a qualifying spot for the main event.
