Dave Versluis scores best Dutch Open result of the season at Emmen

Dave Versluis from the Frentec Champ Team finished ninth overall at round five of the Dutch Open Championship Series at Emmercompascuum. Dave was riding well in both motos and finished in tenth position in the first moto and crossed the finish line in ninth position in the second moto. With these results he scored his best Dutch Open result of the season.

Due to the overnight rain the track was muddy in practice. Dave took his time to get used to the track. In time practice he tried to put a fast lap together. He set his fastest time already in the second lap and this time was good enough for a fifteenth position.

In the first moto he took a decent start and came out of the first corner in eight position. In the first lap he lost two positions and dropped back to tenth position. Dave stayed calm and tried to make no mistakes. After several laps he moved up to ninth position and managed to held on to this position for a long time. In the second part of the moto he lost a position and finished the race in tenth position.

In the second moto he took a bad start and had to charge back trough the field. In the first lap he already worked himself up to eighteenth position. During the race he kept the pace as high as he could and in the second part of the race he worked moved up inside of the top ten. Because a rider crashed in the final lap he moved up a position and after a well ridden race he finished the moto in ninth position.

Dave finished ninth overall and after five rounds he sits in 26th position in the Dutch Open Championship Standings. Dave’s next race will be the final round of the European Championship Series 125cc at Fermo in Italy. This race will be held in the weekend of 11 and 12 september.
