Dave Versluis 13th in UEM 125cc in Bulgaria

Dave Versluis of the Frentec Champ Team finished 13th overall at the opening round of the UEM 125cc series at Sevlievo in Bulgaria. In the first moto he took a poor start and had to come back trough the field. After several nice passes he finished the race in 12^th position. In the second moto he crashed in the first corner after the start. Dave gave everything he had and after a well ridden race he crossed the finish line in 16^th position. These results gave him 13^th position overall.

In free practice on Saturday Dave took his time to get used to the track. At the end of the session he built up his speed and with a good feeling on the bike he was motivated for the next session. In time practice it was difficult for Dave to put a perfect lap together. In every attempt he made a small mistake and because of this he had to be satisfied with an 18^th position.

In the first moto he took a poor start and came out of the first corner in 30th position. He almost crashed when he collided with several riders. In the first lap he managed to pass a lot of riders and at the end of the lap he came by start/finish in 14^th position. In the following laps he worked himself up to 12^th position. Soon after he lost his rhythm and because of this he lost some time on the 11^th place rider. With still five minutes to go he picked up the pace and closed the gap again. Unfortunately he ran out of time to make a pass stick and finished the race in 12^th position.

In the second moto he crashed in the first corner after the start. He restarted in last position and had to come back trough the field. During the first lap he worked himself up to 23^rd position. After several laps he worked himself up to 18^th position. Soon after he had a small mechanical problem but despite this problem he kept the pace as high as possible. After several nice battles he crossed the finish line in 16^th position and scored 5 UEM points.

Dave finished in 13th position overall. On the 1^st of May round 3 of the Dutch Open Championship Series will be held at Varsseveld.
